Personal data we process

Brevart Tree Nursery may process personal data about you because you use the services of Brevart Tree Nursery, and/or because you provide that data yourself when completing the contact form on this website. Brevart Tree Nursery may process the following personal data:

  • your first name and surname;
  • the name of your company;
  • your address details;
  • your telephone number;
  • your email address;
  • your IP address.

Why this website needs that data

Brevart Tree Nursery processes your personal data in order to contact you by telephone if you ask us to, and/or to reach you in writing (by email and/or by post) should you prove unreachable by telephone. Brevart Tree Nursery may also use your personal data to perform an agreement entered into with you, which usually consists of drawing up a quotation, taking and following up an order, and delivering trees and plants.

The processing takes place on the basis of your consent when you complete the contact form yourself, on the basis of the performance of an agreement when you place an order with us, and on the basis of a legal obligation as far as bookkeeping and invoicing are concerned.

How long data is kept

Your personal data is kept no longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected. If no agreement is entered into with you, your data is kept no longer than one year. Invoices and the data belonging to them are kept for as long as the statutory retention period for bookkeeping requires.

Sharing with others

Your personal data is passed to third parties only where this is necessary to perform an agreement with you (for example to a carrier delivering your order), to comply with a legal obligation, or where you have given your consent. The latter is the case for the analytical cookies described below.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit this website. Brevart Tree Nursery uses two kinds.

Necessary cookies keep the website working. They protect the contact form against misuse and remember the choice you make below. No consent is required for these cookies, and they cannot be switched off without rendering the website unusable.

Analytical cookies are only placed after you expressly agree to them on your first visit. If you decline, nothing is placed and nothing is measured. You can review your choice at any time through the Cookie preferences link at the foot of every page.

Measuring website visits

If you give your consent, this website uses Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to measure how many people visit the site, which pages they look at and how they got here. Cookies are placed for that purpose, and your IP address, details about your browser and operating system, and the pages you visit are among the data sent to Google. Google may process that data on servers outside the European Union.

That data serves to improve the website, not to identify or approach you personally. The legal basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time. More information about how Google handles this data can be found in Google's privacy policy.

If you do not give consent, the website does not load Google Analytics and no analytical cookies are placed. Whatever your choice, the web server does keep technical log files, including your IP address and the time of the request. These serve solely to trace faults and to counter misuse, and are kept on the basis of our legitimate interest.

Spam protection with Google reCAPTCHA

To counter misuse and spam through the contact form, this website uses Google reCAPTCHA (version 3), provided by Google Ireland Limited. reCAPTCHA assesses in the background whether a submission is made by a human or by an automated program. For that purpose Google processes your IP address, information about your browser and operating system and your mouse and keyboard behaviour on the page, among other things, and Google may place cookies. This processing takes place on the basis of the legitimate interest of Brevart Tree Nursery in protecting its website against spam and misuse. More information about how Google handles this data can be found in Google's privacy policy and Google's terms of service.

Viewing, correcting or deleting data

You have the right to view your personal data and to have it corrected or deleted. You may also object to the processing, have the processing restricted, or request your data in a readable format. If you have given consent, you may withdraw it at any time. You can send your request to bruno@brevart.be. Brevart Tree Nursery will respond as soon as possible, and in any event within one month of receiving your request.

If you disagree with the way we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.

Security

Brevart Tree Nursery takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to counter misuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised alteration. The website uses a reliable SSL certificate to make sure your personal data does not fall into the wrong hands. If you have the impression that your data is not properly secured, if there are indications of misuse, or if you would like more information about the security of the personal data collected by Brevart Tree Nursery, please get in touch at bruno@brevart.be.
